Description
The Everglades is technically a National Park, but the road called Tamiami Trail that links Tampa to Miami runs south from Tampa to Naples and then east from Naples to Miami. This highway is dotted with tiny Seminole villages, the small town of Everglades City, an almost abandoned village of Ochopee that houses the worlds smallest post office, as well as trourist stops for Airboat rides, vast sawgrass lands, alligator filled canals, orchid and airplant filled trees, and a huge diverse bird population that winters there every year This particular picture shows the expansive sawgrass swamp that leads out to a hammock of trees where many wild animals takes refuge from the sun and rain.
